Department of Homeland Security Expands First Info Tech Contract

Effective June 1, 2014, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate has extended and expanded First Info Tech’s Information System Security Officers support contract.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is committed to using cutting-edge technologies and scientific talent in its quest to make America safer. The DHS Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) is tasked with researching and organizing the scientific, engineering, and technological resources of the United States and leveraging them into technological tools to help protect the homeland. In support of this mission, First Info Tech’s Information System Security Officers (ISSO) support contract has been expanded and extended through May 2015, adding more than $1 million to the contract. First Info Tech now provides ISSOs at S&T headquarters in Washington D.C., as well as ISSO support at S&T laboratories in New York, New Jersey and Maryland. ISSOs ensure that systems are operated, used, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with best practices, NIST guidelines, and internal security policies and practices.
